Product features
This root (Curcuma longa) has its origin in India but is nowadays also cultivated in other tropical and subtropical regions. It looks like ginger root (collegamento ipertestuale) but the inside has a bright light-orange colour and a milder aromatic flavour. It is used as a seasoning and it is the main ingredient of curry powder, giving it the typical orange-yellow colour. Curcuma is well known for medical application and its strong impact as an antioxidant.
Production area and harvesting
We receive our curcuma from plantations in Peru where our ginger roots are also cultivated. The curcuma is available from around September and lasts until May. Like the ginger it can be stored without problems with its high-quality standard and long durability thanks to the drying process.
Packaging
We offer the fresh curcuma loose in cardboard boxes.
