Description

Organoleptic characteristics:

The cultivars in general are presented with a smooth epidermis, an excellent intense internal and external orange coloration, high uniformity of the product and excellent resistance to cracks. Soft, firm and crunchy pulp, with a low fibrous inner heart. Intense and herbaceous aroma.

 

Production area and ripening period:

The excellent peculiarities of the product are due to the pedoclimatic characteristics of the west Sicilian territory (Ragusa and Syracuse), where the fields are located, and in particular to the mild winter temperatures, the high luminosity, the medium-textured, deep, fresh soils with a good supply of potassium that helps an intense regular colouring, with a high content of sugar, mineral salts and beta carotene.

The ripening extends from late February to early June.

 

Packaging:

Wooden boxes or RPC (Reusable Plastic Containers). Also available in 1000 kg big bags both in EUR and INDU pallets.
Size, diameter and length depend on the category. Each package includes only product of the same origin, variety, colour and quality.
