A selected range of fresh tropical fruits sourced from established growing areas in Spain, Italy and overseas origins, with a focus on quality, flavour and reliable supply for the European organic market.

Our assortment includes avocados, mangoes, papayas, guavas and passion fruit.

Avocado

Sourced mainly from Spain and overseas origins, especially Peru and Mexico, with selected seasonal production also available from Sicily, Italy.

Available varieties:

Hass – creamy texture, rich flavour and high oil content

Fuerte – smooth green skin, delicate flavour and creamy flesh

Bacon – green-skinned variety with mild flavour and smooth texture

The variety Hass (usually smaller and oval shaped with a brown shell) is worldwide on high demand because of its good taste. Nevertheless, it is often cultivated together with the variety Bacon (bigger, early and with green shell) which is necessary for a better pollination. The Bacon avocado trees are as well perfect as a windshield because of a better stability.
Another variety we offer is the “Fuerte” one, which means “strong” in Spanish. Actually, it endures even strong winters, it builds larger and elongated fruits than Hass and has a thin plain shell, easy to peel.

Production area and availability
Nowadays the avocado is also cultivated in South-Spain, in Andalucía, on the tropical coast near the city of Málaga. Nevertheless, we also obtain avocados from oversees from Peru, Mexico and the Dominican Republic especially during no harvesting in Spain between April and October, which together with the Spanish production creates an all year long availability of the fruit. In Málaga the harvest of the varieties Bacon and Fuerte begins in October whereas Hass starts in November. The Spanish season ends in April.

Mango

Available from Spain, particularly the main Mediterranean production areas, as well as from overseas origins such as Peru and Mexico. Limited seasonal production is also available from Sicily.

Main varieties:

Osteen – aromatic, sweet and juicy, with firm flesh and attractive colour

Keitt – large fruit with juicy, low-fibre flesh and a sweet, balanced flavour

Depending on origin and programme, fruit can be supplied at different stages of maturity, including Ready to Eat specifications.

Papaya

Sourced mainly from Spain, offering fresh, aromatic fruit with soft orange flesh and a naturally sweet tropical flavour.

Guava

Spanish-grown guava, characterised by its distinctive aroma, juicy flesh and sweet, slightly tangy flavour.

Passion Fruit

Produced in Spain, with aromatic pulp, intense tropical flavour and a characteristic balance between sweetness and acidity.
